The moth circles one flickering lantern

Desolate

The temple of disaster
Framework decayed
Gnawed at by vermin
Infested with lice

Webs draped down from the ceiling
As curtains to an abandoned theatre
Cracks along the neverending corridors
As pathways to pestilence

The eye no longer recognises atrocity
As fissures of the mind multiply
My labyrinth ensnares me
Oh, if only to sleep, to be abandoning all
